From preparation to completion, here's how we protect and beautify your wood surfaces
Dependable Painting and Remodeling usually begins by performing all necessary prep work prior to cleaning and washing your deck or fence.
We then power wash your deck or fence to remove discolored or rotted wood fibers, dust, dirt, and debris. This ensures a clean surface for stain application if needed.
After washing, the deck or fence will be left to dry completely.
If the project allows for it, we recommend using Dependable Penetrating Oil. This is a non-film forming oil based stain, that will easily last twice as long as commercially available products. This is largely dependent on if the wood has been previously stained, and if so, what was used. For all new wood applications, this will offer the best protection and longevity. See video above for more information.

We also have vast experience utilizing water-based products such as Behr Premium with Waterproofing, Sherwin Williams SuperDeck & WoodScapes, and most commercially available equivalents.
Typically, one or two days later, once the wood has had adequate drying time, we will begin coating your project.
We strive to clean the job site better than when we arrived. This includes picking up all trash and debris and leaving the area tidy.
A labeled touch-up kit—which includes a pint of each product used—is left for your convenience (when available).
Each sample is labeled with:
Thorough cleaning removes dirt, debris, and old stain for optimal product adhesion.
